Reading has an important role in my life. It makes me feel different emotions, such as surprise, happiness, sadness, boredom, uncertainty, ... and, of course, it  makes me discover other ways of life I would never discover otherwise.

I'm always reading, may be a novel, a poem, a newspaper, a letter, a message, a textbook or just a word. I have no "special book" I have many "special books" because, throughout my life, I have many "special moments". But there is a book I read when I was 18, at that time, I was passionate about politics, values, fighting for a just cause ... A friend gave me a book, "the Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor ", which was written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

The story of this adventure was serialized in The Spectator of Bogota. On February 28, 1955, the news was that eight members of the crew of a destroyer Navy Colombia had fallen into the water and disappeared because of a storm in the Caribbean Sea. Of the eight people, only Luis Alejandro Velasco survived and he spent ten days adrift on a raft without food or drink ... It is therefore a journalistic reconstruction of the event as the castaway's told the young reporter Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

In particular, I liked this book because, after holding a dialogue with the castaway, he realized that there had not been any storm and the writer reflected the political of his country through this symbol. This event had a political cost and provided glory and career to the castaway and exile reporter who, after many years and after having become a great writer, dedicated this book and copyright.

Reading is important for our menthal enrichment and our cultura development.

In my opinion,a good book  is Nacidos para correr by Christopher McDougall. It has been with me for two years when a workmate of me gave it, However, I haven´t read it until now.

The plot is about one man who likes running, but he gets injured a lot of times. In spite of stopping or playing another sport, he starts to look for information about the reasons why he´s injurying himself continuously. By the way, he´s going to tell stories about different athletes.

This book is entertaining and it´s well-written, but you have to pay attention because sometimes he mixes his own experience with other stories.

It caught my attention because now running is in fashion and I thought that this book could be a guide about new runners.I was wrong and the book is worth.

This isn´t my favourite format, but sometimes it is good to read others genres. It´s the way to learn continuously.

books in my life

I love reading. I like touching and smelling book paper. I love books. But nowaday I usually read books in my e-book because books are expensive and in my e-book I can read a lot of free or cheaper books.

I can't choose a favourite book because I like a lot of books. But I'm going to write about " La caida de los gigantes"." La caida de los gigantes" is a very good book. It tells about a part of world history. The book es about First World War. The book focuses on five families during the First World War and the five families are interrelated.

Normally I don't read these books , but I think it is an interesting book because It tells real facts mixing them with ( part of the story of families). I recommend everyone reading this book and also the second and the third one.

El factor humano. (John Carlin)

Reading is a pleasure but in the variety is the pleasure. I like reading all types of books, but we don't have all the time we want. It`s necessary to feed our brain and mind with books because they are our blood. I don't remember when I started to read... but my grandfather and two fantastic Spanish Literature teachers opened that brilliant world to me.

The last book I read it was El Factor Humano( Playing the enemy: Nelson Mandela) by John Carlin. John worked in SouthAfrica most part of his life as a journalist and he knows the culture, politics, and way of thinking of SouthAfrica people.

Many writers have written a lot of books about the process of union between white SouthAfrican people and black SouthAfrican people. But they have always written about the interior mechanisms during the process of peace. John Carlin wanted to write a book about a miracle; an epic story and at the same time a fable where had a lesson of intelligence and humbleness. And of course, he describes Nelson Mandela's personality; a little biography about him. It seems a book of motivation.
From the beggining I could understand the process of peace during the apartheid; to know more about Apartheid, Boers, Afrikaners,..After sufffering too much, due to the apartheid, black people would logically want to take revenge. But Nelson Mandela was a genuine player of chess. Through  a sport like rugby (a hated sport by black people) Mandela got his plan. All sports have a power of changing the world, of inspiring, of joinning people.
Mandela was in prisson during 26 years and he forgave all the people who hurt him. There is a special mention the other people who was nex to him. All people say that when they talk to him they felt renewed. They felt better people than before the conversation.

El Médico

EL MEDICO

At this moment in my life reading is not important for me because I don't have enough time to do it. In fact, I read a lot of bedtime stories for my daughters every night.

I read this book seven years ago since my husband give it for my brithday.  I didn't start to read it a few months later because I didn't feel like starting an extensive book.

The book describes us the history of a orphan child, Rob, in England in the century XI. Rob has got a special power since with his hands he can know  if a person will die or survive an illness.Throughout the book we can know the history of Rob's live. He started being an apprentice barben-surgeon who travels around England, until he doesn't want to be an adult  and he doesn't travel to Persia. He wants to learn medicine in the best school, for that reason, he passes for a Jewish because Christians can't  learn in that school. He is admited in the school but it is the beginning of a difficult road.
This book is special for me because I read it when I was pregnant of my oldest daugther and I love the historic novels , as well as Los pilares de la tierra. I usually read this kind of books since it is a  fantastics experience  to revive the lives important people from other times.

La elegancia del erizo

Reading is very important for me, but nowadays I don`t have any time to read because I'm doing many things. My nephew gave me this book six years ago and it was a fantastic present. I loved it very much.

It was written by  Muriel Barbery and it reflects the life of two women, Renée and Paloma. Both have a different social class and different ages. Renée is an old woman, she works as a caretaker and pretends to be a normal woman, but she likes reading books on philosophy. Paloma lives in the same building, she is twelve years old and she has an extraordinary intelligence, but she tries to hide herself, she hates the adults world.

This book is a critique of bourgeois society and it shows how  to survive thanks to friendship, love and art. It shows that important things are little things and we shouldn't  judge by appearances.

One character attracted my attention: Paloma doesn't want to show that she is a gifted child. I love her decision and I totally agree with her.
I like reading narrative, especially novels.
